Dear members, friends & supporters,
2018 has been quite a year. The effect of legal aid cuts and the impact of hostile environment policies have been highlighted as never before - the scandal of Windrush, continued Brexit uncertainty for EU citizens in the UK, the Stansted 15 conviction for peacefully protesting deportation charter flights, hunger strikes at Yarl’s Wood.
Every week we see the consequences in Greater Manchester through the scores of people who queue for our free drop-in service. People doing their utmost to fight for their rights and the rights of their families to be together, to live in safety and to access justice. In 2018 we advocated for the rights of over 1,000 people in the North West – people like Rosie who won't give up her dream of
being reunited with her children, and Amina who is holding on to the hope of safety and a new life in Manchester after being trafficked to the UK, and Kidane who after a long and traumatic journey just wants to get the papers that will mean he can use his skills and fulfil his potential in the security of the UK.
This Christmas we’re fundraising so that in 2019 we can continue to stand alongside people in their struggles with the immigration system. Your donations will allow us to support more families divided by borders, provide advocacy to women fleeing violence in Manchester, and legal advice to people who need it most. We know there are so many more people in Greater Manchester who need immigration
advice to build new lives in safety.
Please support us and be part of our fight for people's futures in 2019. If you can please donate and also feel free to share our fundraiser with your friends, families, and on your social media networks.
Thank you for your continued support.
