Shared Future for Young People

Young people supported by Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit recently participated in a workshop with the Manchester Art Gallery. Facilitating artist Harriet led a group of 27 young people on various artistic techniques and creative photography.

The young people really enjoyed the session as they created unique works of art for Refugee Week 2017: Different Pasts, Shared Future. The creations and photographs offer a glimpse into different pasts while opening doors to a shared future in England, the country the young people now call home.

A select number of the art pieces and photographs will be on display at the following locations during Refugee Week:

Manchester Museum (Study Space) from 19 to 25 June, 2017

Z-arts (in collaboration with Manchester University student’s exhibit ‘Home is…Perspectives of Home’)  from 19 to 23 June, 2017

Khizra Masjid Manchester from 23 to 30 June, 2017

We are so excited for you, your family and friends to see the exhibits next week!

Donate to help us change more lives!
We are coping with a very high demand for services. There are many more people seeking asylum, refugees and young people who need our help.
We can't do this alone. We need your support to achieve it. We need people who are committed to challenging racism and immigration controls, and supporting people who are most affected. Please make a donation today to help change more lives!
