Launching our Guides to the Age Assessment Process: Wednesday 9th of September
When young people arrive in the UK unaccompanied to seek asylum, they sometimes have their ages disputed, and are wrongly assessed as adults. To help others deal with the experience, the young people we work with have put together four guides to the process for young people and adults, and we're holding an online launch. You can find more details about the guides below, which will be available on our website from the launch date. We'll be streaming a discussion between GMIAU's Laura and Amanda, including videos and voice recordings from young people and adults who have experienced the age assessments process.
Date: 09/09/2020 Time: 5pm Where: The guides will be available at gmiau.org; the discussion will be streamed live on our Facebook and Youtube. Keep an eye on our website, where we'll post watch links to the live streams early next week. In advance of the event we're also running a series of blogs on age assessments - from young people and other practitioners, including The Children's Society and Refugee Council.
